Privacy Policy
How cookies are used on this site, which external services are brought in, and how your visit is protected.

In Brief
- Your visit is not tracked. No analytics, advertising or tracking tool is used.
- A single strictly necessary cookie is used, solely so that the forms work securely.
- Every file, typefaces included, is served from our own server; opening the page sends no request to any third party.
- The map is not loaded unless you ask for it.
Cookies
Only one cookie is used on this site: the session cookie that secures form submissions. The forms do not work without it; verification and protection against forged submissions depend upon it.
- Name: session cookie (PHP session)
- Purpose: form security; confirming that the submission comes from your browser
- Duration: deleted when you close your browser
- Content: a random session number. It carries no information about your identity.
No advertising, analytics, measurement or social media cookie is used. There is no visitor counter, heat map or similar tool.
Server Logs
As on every web server, the server hosting this site keeps technical access logs for the purposes of security and fault detection. These logs reside in the infrastructure of the hosting provider; they are not examined by us and are not used for any purpose.
The Map
The map on the contact page is served by Google Maps. It is not loaded when the page opens; it is brought in only when you press the “Show the map” button.
When you press that button, your IP address and browser information are disclosed to Google, and Google may set its own cookies. This is subject to Google’s own privacy policy. You may instead use the directions link without loading the map.
External Links
The site contains links to the following external addresses. The privacy policy of the site concerned applies once you click such a link:
- Koç University Hospital — appointments
- WhatsApp — messaging
- YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram — social media accounts
- PubMed, Google Scholar, ORCID — records of academic publications
- Doktor Takvimi — patient reviews
These links operate only when you click them; no data is transmitted when the page opens.
The Files You Upload
The medical images and reports you upload through the imaging submission form are held in a protected area that cannot be reached directly from a web address. They can be viewed only from an authorized account and, once the assessment is complete, are permanently deleted within 15 days at the latest.
Deletion is not left to be carried out by hand; files whose period has expired are removed automatically by the system.
Security of the Connection
An encrypted connection (HTTPS) is used throughout the site. Information you send through the forms is encrypted between your browser and the server.
Children’s Data
This site is not directed at children. An enquiry concerning a patient under the age of eighteen must be made by a parent or legal representative.
Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the operation of the site. The current text is always published on this page.
